9 Famous BFFs That Stood the Test of Time
By virtue of being a BFF, one has their work cut out for them. Forging the special “Best Friend Forever” bond is more than just keeping each other’s secrets or scrawling your status across the page of a high school yearbook. The BFF badge of honor can only be earned by sticking by said BFF through tough situations like: the early morning walk-of-shame or the well-known hair-holding over a toilet after a wild night. These services need not be rendered in person in order to fulfill BFF requirements. Many lifetime friendships have been forged and maintained over the phone and Internet. For example, Julie and Becka, the BFFs of the series Hey Girl!, are hundreds of miles apart; but, when it comes to female crisis’, they are only a phone call away.
10 Photos: Audience New Year's Resolutions
A New Year's resolution is a commitment that a person makes to one or more personal goals, projects, or the reforming of a habit. A key element to a New Year's resolution that sets it apart from other resolutions is that it is made in anticipation of the New Year and new beginnings. People committing themselves to a New Year's resolution generally plan to do so for the whole following year. This lifestyle change is generally interpreted as advantageous.
5 Things the FBI Doesn’t Want You To Know About Its Secret Surveillance Techniques
The FBI had to rewrite the book on its domestic surveillance activities in the wake of last January's landmark Supreme Court decision in United States v. Jones. In Jones, a unanimous court held that federal agents must get a warrant to attach a GPS device to a car to track a suspect for long periods of time. But if you want to see the two memos describing how the FBI has reacted to Jones - and the new surveillance techniques the FBI is using beyond GPS trackers - you're out of luck. The FBI says that information is "private and confidential." Yes, now that the Supreme Court ruled the government must get a warrant to use its previous go-to surveillance technique, it has now apparently decided that it's easier to just keep everything secret. The ACLU requested the memos under the Freedom of Information Act - which you can see FBI General Counsel Andrew Weissmann waving around in public here - and the FBI redacted them almost entirely.

The 10 Most Common Music Cues in Nerd-Dom
Here's an experiment: imagine a cartoon of a skinny, bare-chested old man on the streets of Cairo, noodling on a flute while a cobra emerges from a wicker basket and sways back and forth to the music. What's the tune playing in your head? Chances are, it's the same tune playing in everyone else's. And that's just one of many music cues that everyone knows from cartoons, movies and TV shows. However, few people know the names of those songs or where they came from. In addition to showing up in more mainstream fare, most of these pieces have shown up in geek media -- especially early videogames, where they represented cheap, royalty-free ways to convey certain settings and situations -- such as "it's time to be sneaky" or "we're in Asia" -- whenever the low-resolution screen's clues may have been a bit hard to understand.
Top 10 Reasons to Believe in Bigfoot
There’s no doubt that the big, lovable ape we know as “Bigfoot” is controversial, serving as fodder for both serious study and great hilarity, with people generally divided as to whether it actually exists or not. Mainstream science generally comes down on the side of the skeptics, maintaining that without a body, there is no reason to believe the beast exists, no matter what other evidence one might produce. A few scientists, however, are at least open to the possibility that a large, unidentified primate may indeed be stalking the forests of the Pacific Northwest (as well as dozens of other localities around the world). Certainly, it has acquired more credibility as the years go by, which at least suggests there may be something to the idea. So what sort of “evidence” is there to suggest the big guy is really out there? Here is my top ten reasons why you should–if not believe–at least remain open to the prospect that Bigfoot is more than just a myth or a salesman for beef jerky.
5 Diet Myths That Pack on Pounds
Sorry, Journey, but it's finally time to stop believing—in weight loss myths at least. Believing popular misconceptions can keep you from taking the right course of action to reach your goals, says Julia Valentour, MS, program coordinator and media spokesperson for the American Council on Exercise. Blaming a plateau (or a gain) on any of these half-truths will keep you stuck in your rut and derail your motivation.
The 6 Best Frozen Microwave Pizzas: Our Taste Test Results
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single person in possession of a microwave must be in want of pizza. And though we understand microwaves are the worst appliance for cooking pizza (hello, soggy crusts), certain brands have attempted to do the impossible. They have created microwaveable frozen pizzas. Out of sheer curiosity, we rounded up five of such pizzas (making sure they're nationally available and sold in major grocery stores, of course) and put them to a taste test. We genuinely hoped to find a gem, because we'll be honest -- sometimes we're exhausted and want the world to magically make us pizza by doing nothing more than pressing a button.
