10 True Stories That Will Give Men Nightmares

Recently, a Bangladesh woman cut off the penis of an alleged rapist while trying to defend herself against his advances. The woman, Monju Begum, then took the penis to the police station in a polythene bag to present as evidence. A police spokesman said he believed this was the first time a severed penis was ever submitted as evidence. Even though Begum's attacker certainly deserved what he got, the idea of a set of male genitals in a plastic bag is enough to give any man nightmares. It certainly teaches a valulable lesson to would-be creeps. What we know for sure is that this definitely isn’t the first instance of penicide. Here are nine more infamous penis hackers.

Top 10 Patriotic Movies

Looking for some movies to watch that will make you fiercely proud to be an American? Well look no further, because these films will have you bursting with so much patriotism that you’ll barely have room for any of that all-American barbequed meat. This one could have clawed its way onto this list based on its name alone. But The Patriot’s patriotic merit goes a lot deeper than the title: Mel Gibson plays his usual character, the Formerly Peace-loving Family Man Driven to Revenge by Murder of Family Members, but in this case, the family-member murder occurs during the American Revolution. Of course, Mel is inspired to take up arms against his oppressors. Australian actors and historical inaccuracy aside, this movie will have you seized with old-fashioned patriotic fervor. Remember to calm yourself down before you talk to any British friends afterward.

15 Miniaturizations of Everyday Objects

The industrial revolution was all about bigger. The technological revolution is the complete opposite. For those that want to see the death of the McMansion era, these 15 gadgets are a comforting portent of things to come. Heinz, the company behind the goodness that is Heinz ketchup, has done it again with the Beanzawave. Only a genius could come up with a coffee/soup/sandwich heater that you is powered by your computer via USB. As a professed workaholic, I’ll personally be adding the CEO of Heinz to the ballot for the 2012 presidency.

Top 50 Colleges and Universities in America

With this inaugural 2011-2012 edition of The Best Colleges Top 50 Colleges and Universities in America we set out to create a college ranking that exceeds all the others in focusing on what really matters to students and those who may be helping foot the bill for their education. We've gone beyond investigating standard indicators of academic quality and student satisfaction used by other major ranking systems to also consider indicators of the economic value of a school and the quality of life offered by the city or town it is located in. Choosing a college is one of the most important decisions a person will ever make. The quality of social and economic opportunities opened up to a person in their lifetime will in large part be determined by whether and where they choose to go to school. In some respects, to choose a college is to choose a future. That's why many people talk about college education as an investment. Students (and their parents!) pour enormous amounts of money into tuition, fees, books and living expenses, not to mention all the time and effort, expecting to get something in return. Naturally, they want to know they are making a smart choice in where to invest their time and money.

6 Ways to Find Your Stolen Laptop

Think quick; where's your laptop right now? I bet you felt just a little twinge of worry until you remembered its location, right? Imagine how you'd feel if it was lost, misplaced, or stolen. How would you get it (and your data) back? How could you keep a thief from making evil use of private or corporate data stored on the laptop? It should protect your private data and resist a thief's attempts to disable its protection. On a laptop that's merely lost, it should create a communication avenue for an honest finder to arrange the laptop's return. And of course, if the laptop has truly been stolen it should help you recover it. Different products emphasize different goals. Here's how they stack up.

Top 10 Reasons the Newspaper is Dying

Looking back upon the heyday of the newspaper industry, images of angry cigar-smoking editors, journalists with fedoras carrying “press” cards and sharpened pencils, and little Dickensian children on the street corner shouting “Read all about it!” are evoked. That was back when nothing MORE than newspapers existed, that is in the form of competition. Yes, the paper was as cutting edge as the refrigerator back when the nation relied on its local street urchin to find out what was new in the world. Nowadays, in spite of a good many paperboys who regularly find summer employment, it’s the tech-savvy youth that are primarily responsible for the undoing of anachronistic traditions. You’d think an industry whose very purpose is to keep regular tabs on the status quo would be able to adapt to an ever-changing environment, but such was apparently not the case as an industry of old dogs failed to learn any new tricks (instead they just continued licking themselves). Here’s a look at the top ten reasons why not all traditions are timeless, and particularly why the newspaper industry is folding under itself (and being held in place with a rubber band).
