Camouflage Photography in the Animal World: 50 Astonishing Photos

Some animals have sharp teeth, some have fragile wings, some are predators, some chew on grass, but they all need to survive. Even if harder to believe, some carnivores can be extinct pretty fast, if they don’t find an “intelligent” method of hunting. On the other hand, small animals with poor defense mechanisms need to find a smart way of surviving and hiding. Nature has found the solution: “camouflage”. The evolutionary ability of transforming or adapting to the environment to become a contained part of it. In one way of another, most of the animals have developed such a skill, and they can easily trick the eye. From changing colors to changing body shapes, vertebrates and invertebrates appear as if… they are not there. This post will exemplify the camouflage technique, even in the underwater world. Prepare to train your eyes for spotting the animals and their amazing disguises!

The 10 Most Bad Ass Vampire Slayers of All Time

I'm not sure when it happened, but at some point in the last few years all of the vampires in fiction, whether it be movies, TV, or comics, became giant vaginas. I love vampire movies, and vampires in general, and it really hurts to see so many mediocre vampires; and in turn, bullshit vampire hunters. True Blood is great drama, but where's the mass vampire slaughtering I want and love?

5 Reasons Predators Is The Sequel Predator Deserved

John McTiernan’s film Predator is an 80s classic, a mixed-genre masterpiece that perfectly blends action, sci-fi and horror into something beautiful. It spawned one of the internet’s greatest memes (“GET TO DA CHOPPA!”), has some truly awesome catchphrases (“I ain't got time to bleed.”) and introduced one of the greatest alien species cinema has ever seen. It’s biggest problem, however, is that it was too successful for its own good and, in the last 23 years, has spawned three other films featuring the Predator that have never been worthy of the original. This Friday, the fifth film in the franchise will be released: Nimrod Antal’s Predators. If you have already read my review of the film, you know how much I enjoyed it. The film’s greatest strength is its willingness to tie itself to the first film, making it the first film in the franchise to do so. Josh doesn't agree, but I think the Robert Rodriguez produced movie is the first to actually be worthy of the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic, and here are five reasons why.

7 Browser Security Tests to Try Out and Prevent Exploit Attacks

To draw a comparison, the internet is like the badlands of the Wild West. Full of opportunities but also a free-for-all, where you don’t know when the next attack is going to come from. The browser is one of the most vulnerable soft spots. The browser remains our main porthole for viewing the web. It’s also the main entry point for malware, Trojans, and others browser attacks of their ilk. Then there are the plug-ins like Firefox add-ons, Active X controls etc. There are many ways for a malicious code to punch a hole through. One of the worst is the ‘Man-in-the-browser’ attack. Let’s all be paranoid by default and get ourselves a good anti-virus and firewall to begin with. Then, it’s always a wise idea to keep our software and sundry apps patched with the latest security updates. But most of all it pays to keep eyes and ears open to what’s happening around us. The web may be like the badlands, but it also has heroic sheriffs and town marshals. A few online browser security tools play that role.
